COVID-19: NAC cuts flights to New Delhi



Kathmandu: The national flag-carrier, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), has cut its flight to New Delhi of India after a demand for flights to the India’s central capital noticeably went down due to the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19).

The NAC, through a press statement Friday, said that there is a cut in the Kathmandu-Delhi-Kathmandu flight schedule to be effective from March 15, 2020. 

The NAC operates two flights on this route each day and from tomorrow, only one flight will be available for this route. “Morning flight schedule is to remain as it is  while the evening flight schedule has been suspended till a further notice,” the statement further adds.

Regular flight to Bangalore on March 19 and 31 has been cancelled while the flight to Mumbai on every Friday has been suspended from March 15 to April 15. Similarly, the flight to Bangkok on March 11 and 25 and that to Hong Kong on March 19 and 26 have also been cancelled, NAC stated.

NAC has suspended the Kathmandu to Doha flight from March 10 until further notice. It is stated that the amount paid by the customers to buy the air tickets to destinations where the flights have been cancelled shall be fully refunded and no charges would be taken for changing the flight date for one time, the NAC said.
