KATHMANDU: The CPN (Maoist Centre), a major constituent of the ruling coalition, has called its central committee meeting to deliberate on the contemporary political issues.

Party central office secretary Shreeram Dhakal said the central committee meeting has been called for February 11 and 12. The meeting was put off from time to time due to the risk of coronavirus and it is taking place physically this time.

The meeting will hold discussions on the US assistance project, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact, the situation following the declaration of the local level election, nomination of party’s office-bearers, among other issues.

Although the party held its Eighth General Convention in December, it has not nominated other party office-holders except the party’s Chair.

The CPN (Maoist Centre) stated that the meeting has been called for holding discussions on nomination of central members, the politburo, the standing committee and nomination of the office-bearers as well as on other contemporary political topics.
