KATHMANDU: The CPN UML Chairman, KP Sharma Oli, has directed the newly elected people’s representatives of local levels from the CPN (UML) to carry out activities as a servant not to break down the people’s trust and responsibilities.
Inaugurating the two-day training and orientation programme organised by CPN (UML) Central School Department at Kathmandu today, former Prime Minister Oli urged the people’s representatives to serve the people as a servant, not a boss.
“You have now become a common person after winning the election. People watch you in every step. Don’t allow any weaknesses in course of serving people based on party’s guidance and ideology”, he mentioned.
The UML Chair requested the cadres not to be disappointed as the CPN (UML) has received the highest popular votes though it did not get expected result in the major posts of local-level election.
He also urged all to involve in different activities related to election as the federal and provincial election is coming closer.
Central School Department has organised the orientation for mayors, deputy mayors, chairperson of municipalities and vice-chairperson of rural municipalities and chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of District Coordination Committee elected from the CPN (UML) in local-level election held on May 13.
General-Secretary Shankar Pokhrel, Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Central Accounts Commission of the UML, Dr Pushpa Raj Kandel, among others would impart training on the issue of relation between party and local-level people’s representatives, budget and programmes formulation and effective implementation of programmes.
