Kathmandu: The key partner of the current ruling coalition, CPN (UML) has been fielding leader Devraj Ghimire as the House Speaker.
According to UML sources, senior leaders Chhabi Lal Bishwakarma and Prithvi Subba Gurung were also interested for the post, however party Chairman KP Sharma Oli preferred Ghimire.
Likewise, UML has roughly finalized the ministers it will send to the cabinet. According to an agreement, CPN will get 8 ministries. CPN Vice Chairman Bishnu Prasad Poudel has taken charge as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.
Similarly, Rajendra Rai, Damodar Bhandari and Jwala Kumari Sah have got the responsibility of minister without portfolio. According to UML sources, Padam Giri, Hari Upreti and Bhagwati Chaudhary will be added to the cabinet.
The Chairman of CPN UML KP Sharma Oli and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda have finalized the seat allocation for each party in the coalition. The sources say that CPN UML will get 8 ministries while CPN Maoist Centre will get 4, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) will get 3, RPP and JSP 2 each, 1 for LSP.
