Kathmandu: The CPN (UML) has finalized the names of MPs for the proportional representation of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly. Today, the secretariat meeting held at the party office in Chyasal, Lalitpur has finalized 34 members of the House of Representatives and 91 members of the seven provincial assemblies.
According to Prithbi Subba Gurung, there are 22 women and 12 men out of 34 candidates for the House of Representatives. According to him, Devi Prasad Bhattachan, Hemraj Rai, Kaluram Rai and Nainkala Thapa Magar, Surya Kumari Shrestha, Urmila Thebe, Ishwari Gharti, Rana Kumari Balampaki Magar, Shanti Shrestha and Saraswati Subba are on the list.
Likewise, Raghuji Pant and Eknath Dhakal have been selected from the Khas Arya cluster, and Dayal Bahadur Shahi from the backward area cluster. Menuka Kumari Pokharel, Sarita Bhusal, Shobha Gyawali, Bijula Rayamajhi, Nirmala Koirala, Samjhana Thapaliya, Deepa Sharma and Sunita Baral on the women’s side. Ashma Kumari Chaudhary and Shanti Chaudhary on the Tharu women’s side.
Ishwar Bahadur Rizal, Prabhu Hazara Paswan and Chandra Bahadur Bishwakarma for Dalit men and Rukmani Rana Baraili and Harkamaya Bishwakarma for Dalit women.
Gurung informed that Ganga Prasad Yadav, Amrit Raj Lalbanshi for Madhesi men, Bina Devi, Amrita Devi Agrahari and Pratiksha Tiwari for Madhesi women and Seraj Ahmed Farki for Muslims have been included in the list.
The Election Commission has assigned 34 members for CPN UML. The CPN UML stood first in the proportional vote count. The Commission has given parties three days time, expiring Saturday, to submit their name to be selected in the PR System.
