KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN (UML) party has decided to continue discussions with all parties to garner vote of confidence for the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in the special session of the House of Representatives.

“The party’s Standing Committee meeting held in PM Office, Baluwatar, on Thursday morning unanimously decided to take initiative for dialogue with other parties present in the parliament,” informed UML leader and Foreign Minister Pradip Kumar Gyawali.

Prime Minister Oli is taking a vote of confidence in the special session of the parliament on May 10. Oli is in the minority after the CPN (Maoist Centre) withdrew its support to the government on Wednesday.

The Standing Committee meeting has decided to field candidate in the upcoming National Assembly election in Bagmati as well. UML’s candidate for the National Assembly election has not been decided yet, but it was already announced that Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal will be their candidate.
