Kathmandu, March 1: The CPN (Unified Socialist) has decided to vote for the common candidate for the post of President representing the eight political parties, Ram Chandra Poudel. The election is taking place on coming March 9.
The secretariat meeting of the party held on Wednesday took a decision to this regard, according to Jagannath Khatiwada, chief of Publicity Department of the party.
The meeting also discussed the recent political developments and international affairs and decided to take initiative to unite the leftist campaigns for the cause of peace, stability and development, Khatiwada shared. “The party meeting didn’t discuss about the possible joining on the present Prachanda-led government. But we are positive on joining the government.”
Moreover, the party directed all the sister organizations to hold their national conventions within coming May.
