Cricket team departs for UAE to face West Indies in Unity Cup series

Kathmandu, Sept 23: The Nepali national cricket team departed for the UAE on Monday evening to play the Unity Cup T20 International Series against the West Indies.

The team flew out at 7:25 PM via FlyDubai, with officials from the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) seeing them off at Tribhuvan International Airport.

Although a formal farewell was held last Thursday, the team’s departure was delayed due to visa processing. Players received their visas only on Sunday, which allowed them to travel on Monday.

The first match of the series will be played on September 27, followed by the second on September 29 and the third on September 30. Afterward, Nepal will compete in the ICC T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia-Pacific Regional Final.

Nepal views this series as its final preparation ahead of the qualifiers. With the experience gained from playing in Australia, the team aims to put up a strong performance against the West Indies.
