RSS Photo Book useful in tourism promotion: Culture and Tourism Minister Pandey

Kathmandu, May 22: Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, has said that the RSS Photo Book, a recent publication by the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), has been successful in promoting the country’s natural, cultural, and historic heritage through photography.

While receiving the publication titled “The RSS Photo Book: The 16 Years of the Republic” from the top management of RSS at the Ministry today, the Minister expressed his hope that the book would also contribute to the promotion of Nepal’s tourism sector.

He remarked that the book serves as a testament to the significant transformation happening in the country, countering the narrative that “nothing significant has happened in Republic Nepal.”

The Minister thanked the RSS photojournalists, employees, management, and the entire RSS family for producing this significant work. He also expressed his commitments for continued cooperation, both personally and officially, for the publication of the second edition of the book and its distribution to a broader audience including abroad.

On the occasion, RSS Executive Chair Dharmendra Jha called on the Ministry and its subordinate bodies to cooperate with RSS in republishing the book, stating that it counters the “false narrative suggesting no positive developments have taken place in the country.”

The book features 182 photos taken by 90 journalists, reflecting Nepal’s caste, language, geographical, religious and cultural diversities, and the latest infrastructure developments.
The publication of the book marks the 64th anniversary of RSS.

RSS General Manager Siddharaj Rai and RSS Chief Administrator Sheetal Prasad were also present at the book handover ceremony. #nepal # Tourism #rss
