Custom Office confiscates 14 kgs of gold from TIA



Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu

Kathmandu, Dec 8: Tribhuvan International Airport Customs Office has arrested two persons with 14 kg of gold from Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal.

Custom officials arrested Meen Bahadur Ghale from Gorkha and one other person. They came from Fly Dubai flight no. FZ-573 Thursday night.

Custom officer Ramesh Kunwar informed that Ghale was arrested along with 14 kg of gold which was wrapped in a cloth on the right and left side of his chest.

Senior Superintendent of Police Dineshraj Mainali, the spokesperson of the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, said that one more person was arrested based on the tip-off.

Ghale who was arrested for the offense of customs duty evasion and larceny under the Export Control Act, 2013 and Customs Act 2064 has been handed over to Koteshwar Police to be handed over to the Tribhuvan Airport Office Goucharan for further investigation.

Spokesperson Mainali said that further investigation is being done on the incident.
