Banke, Oct 5: Indefinite curfew imposed in Nepalgunj city area after violence broke out over a social media posts, the Banke District Administration Office (DAO) has lifted the daytime curfew as per the agreement reached in the all-party meeting.
The administration office published a notice today and said that the curfew has been lifted from 8 am today. However, the administration has said that curfew will be imposed from 8 pm today to 6 am tomorrow i.e. Friday.
Such curfew will be within the Nepalganj sub-metropolitan area (Rapti river bridge in the east, Khajura Road to Indrapur in the west, Ranjha Chowk in the north and Jamunah border crossing in the south).
Also, the administration has issued a prohibition order that no gathering, procession, assembly, meeting or demonstration or hanging or writing propaganda material such as posters, leaflets and no more than five people can gather in one place for the purpose of rioting or disturbance within the city area throughout the day.
The district administration has also requested everyone to maintain peace and order in the district, protect public property, maintain social harmony and respect human rights.
