DDC increases milk price by Rs 16 per litre

Kathmandu, March 15: The government-owned Dairy Development Corporation (DDC) has increased the price of milk with effect from Thursday. The Corporation is going to send packets of milk with the new price printed on it to the market from Thursday.

DDC General Manager Sanjiv Jha informed that as per the government decision, the farmers have been given the increased price and that price will be passed on to the consumers from Thursday. “Farmers have received the increased price since Wednesday, we will take the same price from consumers from Thursday,” he said.

Now the price of standard milk (of blue packet) will increase by Rs 11 per liter. The current price per liter is Rs 86 and will be Rs 97 from Thursday. Similarly, the Corporation has increased the price of cow’s milk by Rs. 14 per liter. From Thursday, the price of cow’s milk will be Rs 116 per liter for consumers.

The Corporation has increased the price of creamed milk (green packet) by Rs. 16 per liter. From Thursday, the price of green packet milk will be Rs. 130 per liter to consumers. The price of tea milk will be increased by 10 rupees to 90 rupees per liter.
