Deuba suggest to appoint Kulman Ghising as the NEA chief again

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has directed to forward the process of appointment of Kulman Ghising as the Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority. Ghising had previouly served as the former Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority.

According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, PM Deuba has instructed Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal to expedite the process of appointing Ghising to the post of NEA Executive Director. Hitendra Dev Shakya is currently the executive director of NEA.

On Tuesday, Energy Minister Bhusal met Prime Minister Deuba and briefed him saying that Shakya’s performance was not satisfactory. Deuba then forced Shakya to resign and instructed Ghising to start the appointment process.

After working for four years as the Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, Ghising retired in Bhadra 2077 BS. While in NEA, he had succeeded in ending load shedding and controlling leakage in the country.
