Kathmandu, July 27: General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Bishwa Prakash Sharma, said the documents relating to financial irregularities and scams like fake Bhutanese refugees and Giribandhu Tea Estate need to be studied as per law.

Speaking at a programme organized to mark the 27th general assembly of the Human Rights and Peace Society, district chapter, Kathmandu at Jorpati today, General Secretary Sharma informed that the seven-point agreement between the NC and CPN UML was for ending irregularities.

Effective enforcement of the agreement would help people realize good governance, he said, adding that anyone irrespective of faith and position must be brought to book.

He, however, advocated for the independent investigation that respects legal provisions. The rule and law must be taken into account while conducting study and investigation, Sharma reiterated.

It is wrong if any political party involve in protecting those mired in corruption. On the occasion, the NC leader expressed worry that the fundamental rights enshrined in the constitution were not put into practice.
