Double digit correction in NEPSE, new record in transaction amount

KATHMANDU: The NEPSE index, which measures share turnover, has declined by double digits on Wednesday. The NEPSE index has dropped by 13.09 points to 2780.81 points. The NEPSE index has finally declined after a sharp rise throughout the day.

NEPSE, which rose continuously on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, declined on Wednesday. Investors have called the continuous rise and fall one day a ‘correction’. Despite the decline in the NEPSE index, the share trading amount has set a new record again.

A new record was set on Tuesday with a turnover of Rs 11.35 billion, breaking it on Wednesday. Shares worth Rs 11.95 billion were traded on Wednesday. More than 25.1 million shares were bought and sold on Wednesday.

Banking, trade, hotels and tourism, finance and mutual funds have grown exponentially. All other groups have declined.
