DPM Paudel claims political and policy stability in place

Bishnu Prasad Paudel

Lumbini, Aug 31: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel has argued that government had ensured political and policy level stability to pave way for development and prosperity in the country.

He also asserted that present government had made significant achievements in a short time of its formation. DPM Paudel said it while laying a foundation stone for a new building of the Lumbini Province Hospital here today.

He however admitted that national economy was facing a pressure. “It is necessary to restore hope among private entities and garner their trust so that both the production and productivity would be increased,” DPM stressed.

According to him, the coalition government’s only objective is to prevent country from instability. The two big parties- the Nepali Congress and the CPN UML- joined hand to consolidate democracy and citizen’s rights, which has helped create environment of political and policy level stability.

However, both ruling and opposition parties need to work together for speeding up development works, he viewed.

The DPM directed the construction company, province government and province infrastructure authority to complete the hospital building on time. He, however, made them aware that quality must not be compromised in the name of speedy works. “It is the three-year undertaking, so complete in time,” he added.

He also drew the attention of province government that only modern building does not suffice, smooth management, able workforce and availability of medical equipment is imperative.

Once the building completes, it can be operated in a full fledge manner, so preparations must go hand in hand. Adequate and competent human resource is required in the hospital that will have 1200 beds.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya said once the hospital building completes, it would bring a sweeping change in medical sector.

The hospital building dubbed as a dream project of the Lumbini Province has the investment of Rs 6.18 billion by the province government.

The Infrastructure Authority under the Province government had contracted with an Indian company, Cap Site Ashish Religate Venture on January 11, 2024. A Nepali company is also together in the venture.

The deadline for the completion of the project is January 2029. RSS #Nepal
