DRI takes action against transport operators

KATHMANDU: The Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) has taken action against 19 transport operators who escaped Vehicle and Consignment Tracking System (VCTS).

Issuing a press statement, the Department has carried out a rapid monitoring of 85 such consignments at Dhungeadda and New Road recently, and found 19 trucks without VCTS entry.

According to Revenue Leakage (Investigation and Control) Act, the Department has decided to charge NRs. 2.4 million. The Department has requested to transport operators to entry of summary of goods and vehicle into the VCTS, carry VCTS Manifesto with QR Code and original documents.

The Department of Revenue Investigation has recently introduced the VCTS system to track transport trucks and the concern parties.
