Kathmandu, April 21: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has clarified that Education, Science, and Technology Minister Bidya Bhattarai resigned due to health issues and not because of any disagreement with him.
Speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the Nepal Communist Party, Prime Minister Oli addressed speculations circulating about Minister Bhattarai’s resignation being a result of dissatisfaction due to lack of support from the Prime Minister. He stated, “She was appointed as a minister by me. I assigned her work, supported her, and have been mentoring her. It’s a large ministry, and she resigned only because of health concerns. There is no point in spreading unnecessary rumors about this.”
Referring to Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s recent trip to Bangkok for medical check-up, Prime Minister Oli also criticized attempts to link it with rumors that the government might collapse. He reaffirmed that, as per the agreement between the UML and the Nepali Congress, he will hand over the prime ministership to President Deuba after 15 months. #oli #nepal #politics
