Chitwan, Aug 12: On the occasion of the 13th International Elephant Day, elephants were fed a picnic in the tourist town of Sauraha. Government and private level elephants were given special food like pudding and cake.
The United Elephant Management Cooperative has served the banquet at the office premises of Baghmara Central Community Forest.
Elephants are fed with rice and wheat pudding, sugarcane, cakes, gram, parsley, dragon fruits, apple, banana, melon etc.
The day was celebrated with the support of National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC), Baghmara, Chitrasen, Kumroz Madhyawarti Community Forest, Regional Hotel Association Sauraha, Rewan Sauraha and Lions Club of Sauraha Wildlife City, Lions Club of Chitwan Community.
