Jaleshwar, June 16: Sugarcane farmers have received payment of Rs 1.61 billion from Everest Sugar Mill located in Gaushala Municipality-1 Ramnagar of Mahottari district.
Bimalchandra Thakur, Financial General Manager of Everest Sugar Mill, informed that 14,500 farmers have been paid on time. He said, “The dues of the farmers for the current financial year have been cleared.”
The sugarcane farmers, who were excited after receiving the payment on time, said that they would increase more sugarcane farmland.
Dinesh Kushwaha, a farmer of Gaushala Municipality-11, said that he will increase the cultivation on additional land.
General Manager Thakur informed that the mill has purchased nearly 29 lakh quintals of sugarcane from 14,444 farmers of Mahottari, Dhanusha, Sarlahi and Rautahat in the current financial year and produced a total of 264,491 quintals of processed sugar. #nepal #sugarcane
