Gaindakot, April 27: Blacktopping has been completed in most areas of the eastern section of the Narayangadh–Butwal road, with only the Daunne stretch remaining.
In sections where blacktopping is finished, work is now focused on road safety and beautification. Black-and-yellow safety curves have been installed along various parts of the road from Gaindakot to Arunkhola, helping drivers clearly see road boundaries at night or in foggy conditions.
Lane markings using white and yellow lines are also being added, giving the highway a more modern and organised appearance. These improvements have not only enhanced safety but also improved the overall look of the road.
The project has now entered its final phase, with rapid progress in road marking, greenery development, and construction of drainage systems. Locals have also begun planting and maintaining flowers in designated green areas along the road.
According to Engineer Shiva Khanal, Information Officer for the eastern section, plans are in place to plant dubo (Bermuda grass) in the greenery zones during the rainy season. Work is currently ongoing to prepare these areas by managing and filling them with soil.
He also noted that drainage structures are being constructed, especially in forested and hilly areas, to prevent waterlogging during the monsoon and reduce potential road damage.
Local resident Prem Poudel said the road has entered a new phase marked by improvements in beauty, safety, and structure. Once fully completed, the upgraded road is expected to make travel easier, safer, and more efficient for the public. #Nepal
