KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Janardan Sharma has clarified that he did not bring the fact paper by blaming anyone.
Replying to queries raised by MPs in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Finance Minister Sharma said, “This is not a matter of prejudice and objection. It is a realistic picture of the country’s economy.”
Mentioning that he has presented the facts as it were, he clarified that he also presented the works done by the previous government.
According to Minister Sharma, the actual number of vaccines against corona has been recorded so far. “The figures have not been distorted,” he said. “This is not vengeance; this is the mirror of the country.”
Minister Sharma said that necessary discussions are being held with the concerned parties on the issue of youths deprived of going to Korea for foreign employment. He clarified that the issue was also discussed with the Korean Ambassador.
Explaining that the government has adopted vigilance towards the third wave of COVID-19 pandemic, Minister Sharma shared that Rs 19 billion has been allocated for it.
He said the government was preparing to introduce an economic package for those affected by the COVID-19 soon.
Minister Sharma said that the government is preparing to launch a production-focused campaign to reduce imports.
Earlier, MPs Mahesh Basnet, Khagaraj Adhikari, Prem Suwal, Rajendra Kumar KC, Padam Giri, Gajendra Bahadur Mahat, Devendra Raj Kandel, Pushpa Bhusal, Mankumari GC, Parvata DC Chaudhary, Divyamani Rajbhandari, Prakash Rasaili, Aman Lal Modi, Laxmi Pariyar, Min Bahadur Bishwakarma, Mohan Pandey and Lal Bahadur Thapa had inquired about the fact paper.
