Bhaktapur, Dec 23: Kul Prasad Acharya, the acting chief of the District Postal Office in Khotang, was found dead along with his younger son in a rented house in Bhaktapur. Acharya, a 56-year-old resident of Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-1, and his 22-year-old younger son, Prabin Acharya, were discovered deceased in their rented residence in Balkot, Suryabinayak Municipality-2, on Monday.

Chief District Officer of Khotang, Shiva Kumar Karki, confirmed the incident, stating, “Kul Prasad Acharya had taken leave on Mangsir 28 and informed the administration of his leave. Today, we received this shocking news.”

Acharya had reportedly traveled to Bhaktapur five days ago to visit his sons, Milan and Prabin, who were staying in a rented house in Balkot. According to the police, the father and son were found dead inside a locked room, with visible injuries on their bodies. This has raised suspicions of foul play, especially as Milan, the elder son, has gone missing.

Relatives and locals expressed concerns, stating that the circumstances surrounding the deaths were suspicious. Gopal Acharya, a relative and resident of Diktel, mentioned, “The family of three had dinner together last night. This morning, their bodies were found locked inside.”

The police revealed that Milan was present with his father and brother the previous night. Given the injuries on the deceased and the locked door, authorities suspect homicide.

Preparations are underway to transport the bodies for autopsy, while investigations are in progress to determine the cause of death.  #homicide #nepal #death
