Federal Parliament meeting today, Maoist Centre warns of obstruction

Kathmandu, Sept 15: The meeting of both houses of the federal parliament is taking place today. However, the opposition party CPN (Maoist Centre) has warned that they will obstruct the meeting of the parliament today as they are demanding to remove the word ‘violence’ from the record of parliament.

As per the agenda, the House of Representatives meeting to start at 1:00 pm at the Parliament Building, New Baneshwar is likely to pass the ‘Banking Offenses and Punishment (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081’ and the ‘Legislation Bill, 2081’.

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel is scheduled to present the proposal seeking endorsement of the ‘Banking Offenses and Punishment (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081. Similarly, Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya will present a proposal seeking approval of the lower house on the ‘Legislative Management, 2081’.

Also today, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to table the Annual Report of the National Information Commission for the Year 2079/80.

Meanwhile, at the National Assembly meeting today, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel will respond to queries from MPs concerning the Ministry of Finance.

Likewise, Minister of Education, Science and Technology Bidya Bhattarai will present a proposal seeking discussion on “Nepal University Bill, 2079′, which came back from the House of Representatives with amendments. #nepal #parliament
