Kathmandu, Oct 28: The CPN UML affiliated Federation of Nepalese Industries and Commerce (FNIC) submitted a 40-page concept paper to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today, outlining shared concerns of the private sector regarding economic reforms in the country.
During a meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, a delegation led by coordinator Bhagirath Sapkota of the federation, presented the recommendation titled “Foundation for a Strong Economy: A Robust Private Sector and Strong Infrastructure.”
The concept paper incorporates conclusions from a discussion held on Bhadra 7, which focused on the challenges faced by the private sector and potential solutions to these issues.
The recommendations emphasize the need for immediate policy reforms by the government, given the current complex circumstances affecting both the economy and entrepreneurs.
Prime Minister Oli remarked that the government is working on a planned approach to improve the economy, urging industrialists and businesspeople to contribute to increasing production and productivity. He also suggested that the leadership within the federation should embody exemplary business and production practices.
The meeting was attended by UML’s organizational structure in-charge Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, co-in-charge Rachana Khadka, and the Prime Minister’s economic affairs and development advisor Dr. Yuvaraj Khatiwada, among others.
