
Kathmandu, Feb 17: The recommendation committee formed to appoint the Chairman of Nepal Insurance Authority has shortlisted five candidates from the applicants.
The shortlisted candidates include Kamal Prasad Regmi (Executive Director of Nepal Insurance Authority), Chiranjivi Chapagain (Former Chairman of Nepal Insurance Authority), Damodar Basoula (Former Executive Director of the Health Insurance Board), Ramsaran Pudasaini (Former Revenue Secretary) and Sharad Ojha (lawyer and journalist).
The position became vacant after former Chairman Surya Prasad Silwal was charged with corruption by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). Following this, the recommendation committee invited applications for the position on Paush 26, 2081 BS, allowing 15 days for submission.
Several other candidates, including Dr. Devaraj Roka, Bishnubabu Mishra, Buddha Kaji Shrestha, Dim Prasad Paudel, Bikrant Pandey, Raman Nepal, and Binod Kaji Shrestha, had applied but were not included in the shortlist.
The shortlisted candidates will now undergo a presentation and interview scheduled for Falgun 10, 2081 BS at 2 PM at the Ministry of Finance.
After the interview process, the committee will recommend three candidates to the government. The Council of Ministers will then appoint one of them as the Chairman of the Nepal Insurance Authority. #nepal #insurance #finance
