KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), the umbrella organization of Nepali industry and commerce,  has requested the government for making policy arrangements for the recovery and resumption of Covid-19 affected industries.

Chief of industry committee of the FNCCI Bharatraj Acharya-led team met with Director General of Department of Industry Jiblal Bhusal on Monday at latter’s office and proposed for mutual cooperation in the industry sector.

During the meeting, Acharya said the FNCCI has sought facilitation from the government side to provide needed land plots for the industries, effective implementation of one-stop service centre and others.

Likewise, issues for the formation of a joint taskforce to collect practical and institutional concerns in relation to implementation of Industrial Enterprise Act were raised.

The FNCCI said that a proposal for mutual partnership between the FNCCI and Department of Industry was made as qualitative and quantitative studies of the industry sector were deemed necessary.

On the occasion, Director General Bhusal expressed his assurance to closely work with the FNCCI and meet their genuine concerns.

He also said that meaningful support from the FNCCI was expected as an umbrella act was required to make the one-stop service effective.

Likewise, Bhusal said that the Department has full support for the proposal of partnership to conduct qualitative and quantitative studies of the industry sector.
