Surkhet, March 4: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has stressed the need for women across the country to exert efforts in unison to ensure women rights.
In her address to the Karnali province level women conference at Birendranagar, former President Bhandari laid emphasis on continuing efforts for the protection of human rights.
She underlined the need to bring noticeable reforms in the areas of women rights and empowerment in Nepal.
The former President shared that remarkable progress has been made in the area of women rights as a result of awareness campaigns and social sensitization in the areas of social justice, women rights and gender rights.
The reinstated House of Representative in 2063 BS had fully ensured women rights by introducing four bills related to women rights.
“Women should be continually engaged in obtaining economic, social and cultural rights. The women should be provided with opportunities to equally participate in policy-making at three tiers of the governments”, she noted. #Nepal
