Four killed, seven injured in jeep accident

HUMLA, Dec 05: Four people died on the spot while seven others including a child were injured in a road accident that took place near Jabuka of Dandafaya in ward no. 7 of Simkot rural municipality last night.

The accident involving a jeep (Lu. 2 Cha. 2102) took place at around 10:45 pm when it fell some 600 meters below the road, according to police.

The jeep was carrying a sick person from Hepkakhola to Simikot when the accident took place, DSP at the District Police Office, Surya Prakash Subedi said.

The deceased have been identified as Parbat Sunar,30, of ward no-7 of Simkot rural municipality, Paras Bohara,29, of ward no. 2 of the same municipality, Dukhi Tamang,45, and Guru Tamang,48, of Namkha rural municipality-1.

The injured are undergoing treatment at the district hospital in Humla. The condition of two of the injured is reported to be critical.

Security personnel including locals helped with the rescue work at the site of the accident.

Since it was dark the rescue work faced hurdles, said chief of the Armed Police Force, Humla DSP Mohan Bista.
