Four-member committee to study dispute surrounding Bouddhanath Stupa

            Kathmandu, Oct 2 : The government has formed a four-member study committee to look into the dispute surrounding the Guthi (trusts) of Bouddhanath Stupa.

            A meeting convened in Ministry of Home Affairs here today in the presence of Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai and Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Kumari Aryal among others formed the committee.

            The Committee will facilitate for the resolution of the conflict among the Bouddhnanath Area Development Committee, Bouddha Tamang Kalyan Guthi, Boudhha Melamchi Ghyang Guthi.

            Furthermore, the Committee has been tasked to submit report offering recommendations how to resolve the dispute for a long-term.

            In the team coordinated by the Joint-Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation Rudra Singh Tamang include representatives of the District Administration Office, Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Guthi Sansthan.

            Two people were injured in an atonement ceremony organized in Bouddhanath Stupa area at Boudha in Kathmandu when a conflict ensued.
