Kathmandu, June 11: The government is advancing a plan to provide free insurance to landless people and those currently staying in holding centres across the Kathmandu Valley.
Prakriti Dhakal, Deputy Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office, announced that families housed in designated holding centres would be covered under life insurance schemes.
The initiative, to be facilitated by the Prime Minister’s Office in coordination with relevant ministries, aims to extend insurance coverage at both individual and collective levels. It will also provide educational facilities for the children of landless people.
