Gandaki CM insists on social harmony, unity

Gandaki, Sept 11: Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Surendra Raj Pandey, has spoken the need to strengthen social unity and harmony while finding a new course ahead.

Issuing a statement today, the Chief Minister said that social unity and harmony are unique features of Nepali society, and the time demands us to further reinforce these values as we at a point to find a new direction.

He added that the nation could find a way out to the existing adverse situation through restraint, dialogues and unity.

Expressing sorrow over the human casualties and the unimaginable destruction of public and private property during the Zen Z protests on September 8 and 9, he paid tributes to those who lost their lives and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, wishing for the speedy recovery of the injured.

The Chief Minister Pandey expressed concern over the use of excessive force on September that ended with significant human causalities and the subsequent ‘planned’ incidents of arson and vandalism. “This caused a shock to the entire nation.”

He called for cooperation from political parties, civil society, and the media for encouraging dialogue and unity to resolve the existing issues.

Recognizing the aspirations and sentiments of the youth, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of pursuing a long-term solution through constitutional and democratic processes, while avoiding any constitutional voids.

He further called for the establishment of a high-level commission to carry out an impartial investigation into the excessive use of force on September 8 and the subsequent incidents.#nepal #rss
