Mahottari, Oct 18: A girl died and two others were injured after accidentally touching a bare electric wire on the street in Gaushala-3 in the district on Friday.
Police have identified the deceased as Karina Mahato, 12, of Pachaintole and the injured ones as Radha Mahato, 18, and Bibha Mahato, 14, of the same locality.
The girl was on her way to a paddy field to harvest the crops on Friday morning when the incident occured, according to the Area Police Office, Gaushala. However, the two others were injured while trying to rescue the girl, said Police Inspector Surya Bahadur Rana Magar.
It is reported that the bare electric wire was placed on the street by a local named Binod Mehata to deter wildlife from entering his farm and he forgot to switch it off in the morning. He has been on the run since the incident.
The lifeless body of the victim has been sent to Bardibas Hospital for a post-mortem while the injured ones are being treated at the Gaushala-based Clinic. They are now out of life threatening condition. #electric #shock #nepal
