Kathmandu, Sept 18: The government has inducted Krishnahari Pushkar as Finance Secretary again. The cabinet meeting on Friday decided to remove Finance Secretary Arjun Pokharel, however the reason has not been public yet. Finance Secretary Pokharel has been transferred to the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Minister.
Pushkar has become the Finance Secretary second time.
Within a period of nine months, three secretaries have changed in the Ministry of Finance alone. Previously, Pushkar was removed by Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel, and he brought Toyam Raya. Raya got the opportunity to work as Finance Secretary for only four months. After Dr Prakasharan Mahat became the Minister of Finance, Raya was removed and Pokharel was transferred to the Finance Ministry just before the final preparation of budget 2023/24.
Now, Pokharel also got an opportunity to work at Finance Ministry for four months and 10 days only. Before receiving the responsibility in Finance Ministry, Pushkar was the Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration.
