KATHMANDU: Umesh Prasad Thani of Surkhet has been appointed as the Executive Director of Nepal Oil Corporation, a government-owned entity. A cabinet meeting held on Thursday decided to appoint Thani as the Executive Director of the Nepal Oil Corporation.
The Selection Committee had recommended the names of Chandika Prasad Bhatta of Gorkha and Jiwan Prakash Sitaula of Tehrathum along with Thani of Surkhet for the post of Executive Director. According to a cabinet source, the cabinet meeting decided to appoint Thani.
Thani was earlier a member of the Board of Directors of Nepal Electricity Authority and Registrar of the Engineering Council. He is also the president of CDEN, an association of engineers close to the Nepali Congress.
