Government cancels 1,636 posts under Department of Postal Services



Kathmandu, Feb 8: The government has abolished the Office of Central Money Order and Philatelic Office. Minister of Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma informed that today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers has decided to establish ‘one municipality, one post office’, to change the organizational structure of the post office and to cancel 1,636 posts.

The meeting has also approved in principle the draft bill to make arrangements for the Electronic Governance Commission, and approved the Poor Household Identification and Identity Card Distribution (First Amendment) Guideline 2080 BS.

Minister Sharma, who is also the spokesperson of the government, told the media that the meeting decided to appoint Dr. Parshuram Mishra, a resident of Mahottari, as the Chairman of infrastructure committee for Ramraja Prasad Singh Institute of Health Sciences. #Nepal
