Ramesh Lekhak

Kathmandu, Oct 28: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has said that the government is clear about adopting a zero tolerance policy towards corruption.

During a meeting of the House of Representatives’ State Affairs and Good Governance Committee at Singha Durbar, Minister Lekhak emphasized the government’s commitment to preventing and controlling corruption. He mentioned that a legal framework is being proposed to fully eradicate corruption.

“The government urges the House Committee to expedite the approval of the proposed bills so that they can be presented in the upcoming parliament session,” Minister Lekhak said. “These bills are a priority and must be passed swiftly to create effective laws.”

He called for the committee to finalize these bills for presentation in the federal parliament’s upcoming session. “Bills to amend and update the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Act and the Corruption Prevention Act are currently under consideration by the esteemed committee,” he added.

“While these bills were presented by previous governments, it is essential to understand that the government is a continuous entity and does not change with different administrations.”

Minister Lekhak reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring good governance through the strict implementation of a zero tolerance policy on corruption. #corruption #ciaa #nepal
