Government decides to accord State honours to Dahal



Kathmandu, July 12: The government has decided to accord State honours to CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Sita Dahal. Party’s central advisor and the spouse of party Chairperson and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ passed away this morning at the age of 69.

An emergency Cabinet meeting today decided to perform her last rites with State honours. The meeting expressed sorrow over the demise of Dahal and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

In a condolence note issued by government Spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, leader Dahal has been remembered as an agent for social transformation with her involvement in the Nepali Communist movement since 2028 BS. It is said she made significant contributions to the armed struggle and was an exemplary figure known for her unwavering dedication, faith, and efforts for bringing about positive changes. RSS
