Government should work as per people’s aspiration: UML Chair Oli

KATHMANDU: Chairperson of the CPN (UML) and leader of the opposition party, KP Sharma Oli, has said that he wants the government to work as per the sentiments of the people.

Stressing the need of giving continuity to the programmes forwarded by the erstwhile government, Chair Oli blamed that the government has hesitated to carry forward the programmes brought by the previous government due to ill-intention.

Speaking in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives asking for a special time, he argued that the government under his leadership had performed and carried out efforts as per the policy, action plan and goal.

Former Prime Minister Oli shared that his party made election coalition and party unification with liberal and broad-minded spirit in order to achieve national aspiration of prosperous Nepal.

He further said that distorted activities created due to dissatisfaction within the party, personal interest, ego, frustration has created a situation of changing government.

Chairman Oli claimed that he was born to serve the people and nation and not to be the Prime Minister. He shared that he got the post of Prime Minister in course of serving people and nation.

Leader Oli also asserted that he will again come back to the post of Prime minister with a clear majority. He said that he did not have any pain and regret while dethroned from the chair of Prime Minister through the order of the Court.

The former Prime Minister Oli also said that the decision of the court will be discussed gradually.

He said he had only the concern that each organ of the state should work remaining in the ambit of the set responsibility and authority.

Chairman Oli also claimed that the erstwhile government led by him had done noteworthy tasks in domestic and foreign affairs as well and that should be continued.

He also raised the question on common minimum programme of the government asking why it was not introduced in the parliament and issued escaping the parliament.

Leader Oli said that the talks between the government and the opposition were discontinued at present.

Former Prime Minister Oli raised a question on MCC and asked how the government was to deal with this.

“Why is not the government talking of bringing Limpiyadhura, Kalapani and Lipulek areas back now,” he asked, referring to the areas in Darchula district that belong to Nepal but have been encroached upon by India.
