Government urged to addressing Swargadwari Guthi farmers

Kathmandu, Feb 14: The House of Representatives (HoR), Committee on Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources has directed the government to formulate laws so that the tenant farmers of the Swargadwari Guthi, a religious trust, can get land-ownership certificates based on their realistic identification.

A meeting of the Committee today decided to direct the government toward this end. Committee President Kusum Devi Thapa said that the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has been directed to formulate the legal instruments required in order to provide the land-ownership certificates to the tenant farmers who are tilling the land belonging to the Swargadwari Guthi.

Thapa said the Ministry has been urged to formulate the necessary laws to that connection in coordination of the Guthi Sansthan, the government entity that oversees the religious trusts.

The Committee has also directed the Ministry to inform the committee regarding the problems faced to that connection and the special work progress within March 13, 2025. rss #guthi #nepal
