Kathmandu, Feb 25: Media person Sharad Ojha has been appointed as the Chairman of the Insurance Authority of Nepal, the regulatory body overseeing insurance companies in Nepal. The decision was made during the Cabinet meeting on Monday, sources informed.
Ojha was selected from a shortlist of three candidates recommended by the Recommendation Committee. The other candidates included former secretary Ram Sharan Pudasaini and former Chairman of the Health Insurance Board, Damodar Basaula.
With a background in journalism, Ojha has been involved in academia in recent years. His appointment is expected to bring new perspectives to Nepal’s insurance sector. #insurance #Nepal
