The case is being heard in the Constitutional Court of Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JBR, Justices Deepak Kumar Karki, Mira Khadka, Harikrishna Karki and Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha.

The case was filed by Purnimaya Lama alleging that Speaker Agni Sapkota was directly involved in the murder of Arjun Lama of Kavre district during armed conflict. The case was filed in Supreme Court some 13 years back.

The hearing of the case was postponed several times citing lack of time.

While the dispute is raging within the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), observers have considered it differently.

However, Sapkota had repeatedly denied all the allegations. He was one of the senior leader of Nepal Communit Party (Maoist) at time of armed struggle.
