Kathmandu, July 25: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has stated influence of monsoon winds are currently prevailing across the country.
The monsoon low pressure line is shifting slightly northward in western Nepal and is around its normal position in the eastern region.
Light to moderate rainfall is taking place in some parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
There is a possibility of heavy rain in a few places in the hilly regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.
This afternoon, the Himalayan and hilly regions will generally be cloudy. The southern plains in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces will also mostly be cloudy.
The Terai regions of Madhesh and Koshi provinces will be partly cloudy. Some places in the Himalayan and hilly regions may experience medium rainfall/snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning.
A few places in the Terai regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as a few places in the Terai of Madhesh and Koshi provinces, may have medium rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning.
Tonight, the country will generally be cloudy. In some parts of the Himalayan and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and a few parts of the Himalayan and hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, there is a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning.
In one or two hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki and Koshi provinces, heavy rain is possible.
The Division has urged general public to take necessary precautions to avoid risks or damage from potential floods, landslides, and soil erosion in these rainy areas.
The weather condition may affect daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, and road and air transportation, the Department stated, urging public to stay updated with the latest official information about the weather.#nepal #rss
