KATHMANDU: Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand and Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dilendra Prasad Badu discussed with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on various aspects of the bill designed to amend the Nepal Citizenship Act, 2063 BS.
During the discussion held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, Home Minister Khand shared about the discussions held with the members of the House of Representatives at the Ministry on March 7 and 8. During the discussion, they briefed Prime Minister Deuba on the views expressed by the leaders of the political parties.
Likewise, the report passed by the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the House of Representatives and how to move the bill forward were discussed.
Stating that there is a problem in the distribution of citizenship due to lack of citizenship bill, the government is preparing to present the bill in the House of Representatives with the consent of the political parties.
