Kathmandu, Aug 28: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, has spoken the need for operating Chhoti customs. Chhoti customs are the branches of the main customs offices.
In a meeting of the Central Revenue Leakage Control Office today at the Ministry of Finance, Singha Durbar, the Minister stressed the need of reinstating those Chhoti customs offices closed during the armed conflict.
He said the government is committed to taking measures to meet the revenue collection targets. He assured of an official decision to operate the closed customs offices having own land and buildings soon.
He hoped that the operations of Chhoti customs office will lead to the rise in revenue collection. He also wanted the Finance Ministry to point out if any weaknesses in the performance of the Home Ministry.
He also drew the attention of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Bishnu Prasad Paudel about the ‘workload’ on police administration despite having limited resources.
