KATHMANDU: Pleading by the petitioners and defendants on the writ petition filed against the dissolution of the House of Representatives concluded at the Supreme Court. This will now be followed by arguments from the Amicus Curiae.
The Amicus Curiae for this case comprises senior advocates Badri Bahadur Karki, Satish Krishna Kharel, Bijaya Kant Mainali, Purna Man Shakya and Geeta Pathak. They will be making their arguments on the matter to help the court in dispensation of justice.
The Constitutional Court that is hearing the case will then deliver its verdict after hearing arguments from the members of the Amicus Curiae.
Today, senior advocates Shambu Thapa, Raman Kumar Shrestha and Mukti Pradhan, on behalf of the writ petitioners, presented their counter arguments.
Likewise, advocates Govinda Sharma Bandi, Santosh Bhandari, Sarojraj Ghimire, among others demanded reinstatement of the HoR while arguing that the government was formed for a five-year term and the Constitution does not provide the Prime Minister the right to dissolve the House of Representatives.
The hearing on the case is taking place at the Constitutional Court under the leadership of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana since January 17.
