Kathmandu, March 5: The House of Representatives (HoR) meeting on Wednesday endorsed the Ordinance on Privatization (First Amendment), 2081 with a majority.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel tabled the proposal seeking approval of the HoR.
On the occasion, the Finance Minister said that the ordinance has offered alternatives to the investment of the public enterprises adding that privatization was not the only alternative.
Paudel informed the ordinance was introduced through the system. Likewise, a proposal tabled by lawmaker Madhav Sapkota against the ordinance was rejected by the HoR meeting. Lawmakers Urmila Majhi, Suryaman Dong, Metmani Chaudhary, Sumana Shrestha and some others seconded the proposal of Sapkota.#nepal #political #rss
