Pokhara, Dec 25: The International Balloon Festival taking place in the tourist city of Pokhara has brought new life to the market there, with an increase in both domestic and international visitors.
Leading up to the New Year 2025 and Christmas, the International Balloon Festival has been underway since December 24 on the banks of Fewa Lake and will continue for 9 days.
Bikram Bade, Chairman of Balloon Nepal, stated that the festival aims to promote tourism through adventure sports.
He expressed excitement over the participation of both local and international visitors.
Key attractions of the festival include sunrise and sunset views, night balloon glows, fireworks, balloon races, hot air balloon flights offering panoramic views of Pokhara Valley and the majestic peaks of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Kumari Dance, and Bajrayogini.
The hot air balloon festival is expected to attract more tourists to visit Pokhara, especially since Pokhara Metropolitan City is celebrating the Pokhara Visit Year 2025.
It is reported that hot air balloon pilots from 15 countries are participating, making the sky over Pokhara colorful with 17 different types and sizes of hot air balloons.
