House Dissolution: Hearing on Constitutional Bench, Next hearing on Sunday

KATHMANDU: The issue related to the dissolution of the House of Representatives will be heard in the Constitutional Bench.

The writ petitioners had demanded the case to be taken to the SC’s full bench. However, the case will be heard in the Constitutional Bench.

The next hearing will be on Sunday.

The Constitutional Bench comprises with Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JBR, including justices Bishwombhar Prasad Shrestha, Anil Kumar Sinha, Tej Bahadur KC and Sapana Pradhan Malla.

Eleven of the 13 writ petitioners against the dissolution of the House of Representatives had filed in the apex court demanding a hearing in the full bench. But Chief Justice Rana had repeatedly rejected it and formed a constitutional bench.

Meanwhile, Senior Advocate Badri Bahadur Karki as a amicus curie suggested to increase the number of justices in Constitutional Bench. He was representing from Nepal Bar Association.
