Kathmandu, May 14: The House of Representatives, the lower house of the Federal Parliament, has commenced its meeting at 11.15 am today at the Multi-purpose Hall of the Federal Parliament Building in Singha Durbar.
The House is scheduled to discuss the Nepal Government’s annual policies and programmes for the fiscal year 2026/2027, contained in President Ramchandra Paudel’s address to the joint session of both Houses of the Federal Parliament on May 11.
In the meeting, Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle will respond to the questions raised during the discussions on the policy and programme document on behalf of Prime Minister Balendra Shah, and the amendments received on the policies and programmes will be presented for decision.
Discussions on the said policies and programmes were scheduled for Wednesday’s meeting, but the opposition parties blocked it demanding the presence of Prime Minister Shah and the discussion agenda of the meeting was postponed for today.
In the meeting, Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle will be presenting a proposal seeking that the House discuss on the Principles and Priorities of the Appropriation Bill (Except Tax Proposal) for the Fiscal Year 2026/27.
Similarly, Ganesh Parajuli, the chairperson of the Drafting Committee of the House of Representatives Rules, is scheduled to present a proposal for the consideration of the committee’s report. #nepal #rss
